(Open Letter to the Minister of Justice)
Dear Kiri Allen,
Introduction
I am writing to ask you to do something about
hate-speech against men, in the context of your
Government's various initiatives and statements about hate speech.
I did not make a submission on the original proposals, because it seemed
to me that the Government already had certain types of hate speech in
mind and would not react positively to the inclusion of other victim
groups. The type of hate speech I am most concerned about concerns
Family Violence (also known as Domestic Violence) and the perpetrator
that I want to concentrate on is Women's
Refuge.
Women's Refuge
The Women's Refuge is a powerful institution,
because the Femi-Fascist media, the Femi-Fascist education system, the
Femi-Fascist public service, the Femi-Fascist police, the Femi-Fascist
legal system and successive Femi-Fascist New Zealand governments have
never allowed critics of Women's Refuge to debate the issues with them
publicly and democratically.
On its home page, Women's Refuge describes itself as follows:
"New Zealand’s
largest nation-wide organisation that supports and helps women and children
experiencing family violence. Our vision is for all women and children
in Aotearoa to live free from domestic and family violence."
Straight away, Women's Refuge proves itself to be sexist and discriminatory,
because:

It does not help men experiencing family violence;

It implies that children experiencing family violence experience
it only at the hands of men -- otherwise, why lump women and children
together as victims? Who helps the children who are experiencing
violence at the hands of women?
Next, Women's Refuge has the cheek to have a section entitled "What
is Domestic Violence?" It is obvious what Domestic Violence
is; it is violence which occurs in a domestic setting and Family Violence
is violence which occurs in the family. However, Women's Refuge
redefines Domestic Violence to mean a specific set of circumstances,
where women are defined as innocent (whatever they do) and men are defined
as guilty (whatever they do). This is what Women's Refuge states:
"Domestic violence is a pattern of
power, control and coercion. Abuse is not just physical, trust your
intuition.
If something does not feel right to you, then it’s not OK.
If you are being abused, remember it’s
not your fault. Violence is never okay. No one deserves to be abused,
and we are always here to help you. At Women’s Refuge, we won’t
judge you. We will listen to you and support you to make choices for
your safety."

It is a blatant lie to say that Domestic
Violence is a pattern of power, control and coercion.
Domestic Violence is violence which occurs in a domestic
setting. If there is a pattern of power, control
and coercion, that is a separate issue.

What Women's Refuge is saying here is that, if a woman is violent
towards a man, that is not Domestic Violence, because only
a man can use power, control and coercion. That
is also a blatant lie. That is just a Lesbian
fantasy, which is called
the Duluth model, or Power and Control model. This model
has never been proved. There has never even been any scientific
evidence for it. See this review of

What Women's Refuge is also saying here is that nothing is ever
a woman's fault.

What Women's Refuge is also saying here is that they will always
listen to, help and support any woman who has an instinct or feeling
that something is not OK.

What about men's instincts and feelings?

What about the objective facts about the actual events?
Official Information Act Request
Your initiative in relation to the New Zealand Bill of Rights Act
1990 indicates that you are aware that New Zealand is supposed to be
a Democracy. I am not particularly sorry if that sounds sarcastic.
Under the Official Information Act, could you please state what plans
the Government has to subject Women's Refuge to open public scrutiny
or public debate with critics such as myself?

Dear Kiri Allen,
Thank you for your office's letter dated 29 November 2022. It answers
my Official Information Request by stating that there is no information
about any plans the Government might have to subject Women's Refuge
to open public scrutiny or public debate with critics such as myself.
In other words, it states that there are no such plans.
I am writing to correct some apparent misunderstandings in that letter.:

I did not (as it states) ask you to provide or prove an opinion.
A plan, or information about a plan, is not an opinion or a proof
of an opinion.

I did not engage in a debate about the Government’s policies
(as it states). All I did was to explain what I thought might be
a reasonable plan for a Government to have in a democratic country
and ask you whether you had such a plan.

You are a high-level part of the Executive of this country and
are able to, and actually do, carry out various important actions.
There would be little point in my having a "debate" with
you, since you would be the judge of the debate, as well as a participant.

I did not even mention "violence towards women," and
I am not going to speculate as to what strange thinking caused that
particular phrase to be introduced into the letter. If I were to
speculate about that, you would probably accuse me of debating the
issues with you.
